A Decade of Care
Joseph's journey from Army medic to trusted steward of Monterey Bay's finest vacation homes.
How it all started
In 1981, I arrived in Monterey Bay as a Clinical Medical Specialist in the U.S. Army. After serving overseas from '82-'83, I returned as a Sergeant in '83-'86, assigned as an Advanced Combat Medical Specialist in the 2nd Squadron 10th Air Reconnaissance.
In 1995, I had to leave due to job transfers. However, I held onto my Monterey home and rented it out, always with a plan to return. Finally, in 2010, I returned to California and secured a consulting contract as Interim G.M. for a company in San Jose.
In early November 2012, my Property Manager informed me that my tenants had given their 30-day notice a week ago. I was disheartened by the delayed delivery of this news, feeling it was disrespectful and a complete opposite of how I, or my future company, would behave. This is a core memory for me that will forever influence how myself and my company care for our clients.
I consider myself truly fortunate to live and work here.
How it is going
In 2013 I met MaryJane Caputo-Walters (my future wife and business partner) and found we had a terrific synergy as we worked together. In late 2014, MaryJane and I started our own property management company servicing Vacation and Long Term rentals.
I can truly say, I have never been happier in my life.
